Kids are getting involved in the 4-H program, but there’s plenty of room for more students to join. 4-H is an organization for Codington county where kids can do many things that will help them in the future.
You can show animals such as cats, dogs, cattle, pigs, sheep, chickens, ducks, and rabbits. Kids can ride and perform with their horses in the 4-H rodeo. You can enter special foods and cook things for judges, or you could enter Fashion Review where the pick out outfits and model them for judges. Crafts is another activity that can be judged. At the end of the 4-H year, there is an awards ceremony where 4-Hers can win trophies, ribbons, checks, plaques and other prizes.

While awaiting the final decision, many students are excited for a movie night. However, before we can even choose what movies to watch, the school has to buy a warranty from a company so they don’t break the law in showing the movie. Our student government is still in debate on how many movies to show. There are 70 movies to choose from, but we are still in the process of choosing and debating. A movie night could be coming!

It’s a few days after New Year’s and students are already beginning the new year off at school. The main question is “What’s your New Year’s resolution?” Have fun and be creative with your goals and resolutions, but most of all, try to achieve them! Also, we need to start getting into gear. We are slacking off a little, so we need to keep up with our regular school schedule. Good luck with your resolutions and Happy New Year!

What is safety? Safety is when you feel safe in yourself. I lock every door leading into my house before I go to bed at night. A person could also lock the windows with the latch on the inside. Being safe is a calming feeling, so think about what you can do to be safer in your home.
